Highlights from the Week of January 4-8, 2019
- EAST and G.T. hosted parents for a night out. It was a great time for these students to get to teach their parents and grandparents about the technology they are using every day. The 2nd-grade G.T. students performed two plays. A great time was had by all!
- Lunch with dads provided a time for dads to come and have lunch with students. We had many dads come to school for lunch.
- Father/Daughter dance provided a night out with dad for our Walker girls. Fun was had by all.

The Importance of School Attendance by U.S. Department of Education
A student is chronically absent if he or she misses only two days of school per month (18 days per year). Even one year of chronic absence can cause a child to fall behind academically and decrease a child’s chances of graduating from high school, which can have long-term consequences on their financial independence, physical well-being and mental health.
Parents can prepare their children for a lifetime of success by making regular school attendance a priority and understanding the reasons for their child’s absences. Learn more and find help at http://www.AbsencesAddUp.org.
Kindergarten Registration is on March 11th from 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Inclement Weather and Snow Day Procedures
In the event of inclement weather that affects our roadways, district officials work to make a decision by 6:00 am. School cancellation will immediately be announced on the district Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/SpringdaleSchools. Local news outlets will also be notified. In the event of a school closing, all extra-curricular activities, meetings, etc. are canceled for that day as well.
