CMS' Showcase Night Was A Huge Success...
Parents & Guardians:
I want to thank all of the parents and students for attending our first-ever Showcase last week. We had over 300 parents attend and several students as well. The night was a great night to view student work from all grade levels and to hold conversations about student learning. All in all, it was a wonderful night.
This week, we will be starting our MCAS testing window with the English Language Arts tests. Our 8th grade students will be testing on Tuesday and Wednesday, followed by our 5th grade students on Thursday and Friday. This past week, I was able to speak to all students. My focus was simple: Just do your best… I wanted to make sure that the students don’t stress too much and just focus on what they can control. As parents, here are three tips that you can use to help your child prepare to do their best:
1. Have them go to bed early (there’s no homework the night before testing)
2. Make sure your child eats a good breakfast before they leave for school
3. Remind them to just do their best
Our students are awesome and will be ready for whatever comes their way. Additionally, it's important to note these tests are only a small part of defining our school and our students; we have so many great things happening within our middle school that represent opportunities for all students to learn and grow - CMS Rocks!
Wishing everyone an amazing week.
