Curbside Pick-Up/Drop-Off for Seniors 6/2

On June 2nd, all seniors or senior parents/guardians are asked to adhere to the schedule and protocol outlined below to drop off materials and collect belongings. Our schedule and process has been developed to limit the number of students/parents/guardians on campus and to support state guidelines related to social distancing.

Schedule: The schedule for June 2nd was emailed to all families.

  • Tuesday, June 2, 2020 (Rain Date: Wednesday, June 3, 2020)

Process: No students/parents/guardians will be allowed in the building. Members of the Nashoba staff will facilitate the curbside pick-up at each station. All student locker belongings have already been bagged, labeled, and organized.

All students/families should enter the NRHS Student Parking lot from Route 117 (NOT the Green Road entrance).

Before Arrival

  • Write the student's last name on a piece of paper (bold/dark lettering) which can be viewed by us from your car window (driver’s side or on dashboard) as you pull into the school parking lot. This will help us with efficiency!

Note from the Health Office

Hello Nashoba Families!

We're in the home stretch! It was so great to see so many faces (well, eyes anyway!) of students and families this week at the belongings and medication pick-up! It was great to just say a quick, masked hello and check in with so many of you and see how you're all handling this time. Thank you all for checking in and I wish you all a healthy and enjoyable summer! (If anyone missed medication pickup, they will be stored in our health office until next fall).

And we're looking forward to Senior Day next Tuesday! We'll be at one of the stations handing out students' medical records and any stored medications. We're looking forward to seeing everyone's masked faces! Congratulations to the AMAZING Class of 2020!!!! We will miss each and every one of you!

Be well everyone, and as always, continue to reach out with any concerns. We miss you all!!!

Guidance Department Updates

Update on Science and Technology/Engineering (STE) MCAS:

In light of the COVID-19 school closures this year, the Board of Elementary and Secondary Education voted today to modify the science and technology/engineering (STE) part of the competency determination requirement for current high school freshmen, sophomores and juniors (members of the classes of 2021-23). Under this change, the competency determination in STE will be awarded upon demonstration that the student earned credit for a course in the relevant subject matter and demonstrated competency in one of the four tested disciplines (biology, chemistry, introductory physics, technology/engineering) during their high school career. The process and timeline for awarding the modified CD will be announced at a later date.

SAT and ACT Dates

The ACT has testing dates scheduled for July, September, October and December. The ACT is now offering a new policy in which after a student has taken the entire exam on one of the test dates, a student is able to retest in any section of the exam on another test date.

The SAT is offering test dates on August 29 and September 26 as well as in October and November. Nashoba will be hosting the August, September and November tests.

NRSD Facilities Remain CLOSED

REMINDER: All NRSD athletic fields & facilities are closed until further notice for public/private use. This includes all NRSD facilities (Gyms, Fields, Tennis Courts, parking lots, around the school, gaga pits, etc.) and the HS Turf Field Complex and Track!
