Scholarship Auditions and Portfolio Review
Saturday, November 19, 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Dear Friends of the Theatre,
Theatre at Oklahoma State invites you to campus for our Scholarship Auditions for academic year 2017-18! One-year and four-year awards start at $1,000!
Featured during the day are fun workshops with our professional faculty, lunch with our current students, and plenty of time to get to know us and the facilities!
Students focusing on Performance will audition two contrasting monologues for no more than three minutes total. Students pursuing Design, Technology, or Stage Management should present a portfolio of work. Students interested in Musical Theatre may audition one song and a monologue, three minutes total.
Scholarship auditions and portfolio review will be held on Saturday, November 19, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Seretean Center for the Performing Arts on the OSU Campus in Stillwater, on the corner of Morrill Avenue and South Knoblock Street.
We encourage you to bring parents and to spend the full five hours with us. We begin the day with introductions to the Theatre faculty and a tour of our facilities. From 10:30 a.m. to noon we offer various workshops presented by faculty in several subjects, from slapstick comedy and stage combat to blood, guts, and gore make-up design and model building. Lunch with our students is from noon to 1:00 p.m. at Hideaway Pizza. The auditions and portfolio review take place from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.
To confirm your attendance, or to inquire after more information, please call the Theatre Office at (405) 744-6094 or email the Head of the Department, Dr. Andrew Kimbrough, directly at andrew.kimbrough@okstate.edu. Please let us know you are coming so we can expect you!

The PR and Marketing team will be visiting us at Tinker AFB on Wednesday, November 16th at 10am. The day they visit will be too much fun to miss! You will have the opportunity to receive academic support with live teacher assistance, from both an OVCA Elementary and an OVCA High School teacher! We will also be utilizing paper airplane launching devices to have a friendly paper airplane competition with other OVCA military connected students! And what a better way to finish off our time together than with some time spent in our indoor gym facilities...game of dodgeball anyone?? Do the batteries in your smoke alarms need to be replaced?
According to FEMA smoke alarms that are powered by ‘battery only’ run on either a disposable nine-volt battery or a non-replaceable 10-year lithium battery. Alarms that get power from your home’s electrical system, usually have a back-up battery that will need to be replaced once a year.
