A Message from the Principals
Hello Millbridge families,
Over the past several weeks, the majority of our families have settled into a nice routine and are successfully navigating Canvas. We know that this was challenging and we appreciate everyone’s patience and perseverance. We have allowed for a great deal of flexibility and have been very open with our timelines. As you have likely noticed, our students are now fully immersed in the curriculum. As such, we will now be strictly adhering to the expectations for work completion and attendance.
On your child’s asynchronous days, meaning the days that they are not meeting with their homeroom teacher for instruction by attending school or participating in the required google meets, it is imperative that your child is completing their work. We have explained how attendance is taken in the hybrid and remote sections below for those days, as it pertains to each program. Math, writing, and fundations MUST be completed and submitted as indicated in order for your child to be considered present in school.
Students who receive English as a second language, basic skills support, remedial reading, or special education services are also expected to attend all of the Google meets that are scheduled. All of these services are offered on asynchronous days. Certain programs also receive support on synchronous days.
Thank you to the many families who have already completed Family ID. There is an additional form that must be completed so that we can assign your child their chromebook. It is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT that all forms are completed by Tuesday, October 20th. An email will be sent to all families with information.
Educationally yours,
Mrs. Lowe and Mrs. Murphy

Google Meet Expectations
In addition to the general expectations and norms for working virtually, which can be found on your child’s homeroom page in Canvas, please help us maximize the learning time by adhering to these expectations.
Be on time for all scheduled Google Meets.
Be prepared with all materials needed for that meet (pencils, paper, etc).
Students are not permitted to use phones, video games, watch tv or listen to music during their meet.
To the greatest extent possible, please help your child and his or her teacher by minimizing distractions. Headphones are strongly recommended.
Plan to have your breakfast and lunch either before or after your scheduled time.
Remember, this is a time for your child and their classmates to work with their teacher. Although it is helpful to have an adult nearby, only the student should be on the meet (exception- preschool). Siblings and other individuals should not be joining the meet.
If there is a significant disruption to the Google meet, teachers have the capability to remove a student. Additionally, to prevent disruptions to the learning environment, students who arrive significantly late to a meet may not be admitted.

Attendance on Asynchronous Days
In order for your child to be considered present on asynchronous days, your child must bring in their completed writing, Fundations and math assignments on their next in-person day. The work assigned on Learning A-Z (Headsprout, iReady, Science A-Z, Vocabulary A-Z) or iReady must be completed by the end of the week. Additionally, special area and social studies/science work also should be completed by the end of each week. The Canvas log-in reports are not the sole metric for attendance. Since assignments and lessons build on prior material, completing assignments in a timely manner is essential.
For Delaware students, all math, Fundations and writing assigned on Tuesday and Wednesday should be brought to school on Thursday. The work assigned on Friday should be brought to school on Monday.
For Rancocas students, all math, Fundations and writing assigned on Monday should be brought to school on Tuesday. The work assigned on Wednesday and Thursday should be brought to school on Friday.
Halloween
Due to the unique nature of this year, we will not be holding the annual Halloween parade or classroom parties. As per the district communication, no costumes will be permitted to be worn while in school. However, students who choose to do so might consider wearing the traditional Halloween colors of purple, orange, black and white, a Halloween t-shirt or festive socks.
Although we are unable to celebrate Halloween, we have arranged for all students to complete a special seasonal craft project.

It is very important that ALL remote students pick up their materials on Wednesday, October 21st. To make this as convenient as possible, we coordinated the material pick up, remote library day, picture day and Chromebook distribution to occur at the same time. Students in kindergarten, 1st or 2nd grade that already have a Chromebook should keep their device. For students who do not have a device, Family ID must be completed before you will be able to obtain your device. Materials may be picked up between 9-12, 12:30-3, and 4:30-5:30.
