Newsletter Week of April 10, 2023

Dear Nashoba Regional High School Community,

I hope this message finds you doing well. We are in for a beautiful week of warm spring weather as we head into April Vacation. I will be taking the week off to be with family and will not send out another newsletter until after vacation.

Last week we had a very successful Reality Fair experience for our 10th graders (a huge Thank You to our community volunteers and our guidance department!)

Congratulations to our Robotics Team which qualified for the World Championship competition in Houston, which will take place over April vacation! Good Luck!

Good luck wishes to all of our DECA National competitors who will be competing in Orlando, also over April vacation!

Students, please be aware that the library will be closed beginning right after April vacation through 5/12 for Seal of Biliteracy and AP testing.

Have a great week!

Sincerely,

Dr. Kate Boynton, principal

Congratulations to our First Robotics Team!

Great Volunteer/Community Service Opportunity – Spring Vacation Week

Emerson Health is running its 7th Annual Learn-to-Bike Camp during Spring Vacation week: April 17-21 at Lawrence Academy in Groton. During bike camp, more than 40 children with special needs are taught by physical therapists and volunteers how to ride a bike! Each camper requires volunteers to help motivate and spot them as they learn to bike. Camp is an amazing experience for all involved. For students interested in careers in health care, physical, occupational, speech therapies, recreation, athletics, and teaching, this is an extraordinary opportunity to make a life-changing difference for children and network with professionals during camp.

To participate, volunteers must be 14 years or older and able to run around a hockey rink (without ice). Volunteers will:

- Receive training and mentorship during camp from physical therapists

- Help children with special needs learn to ride a bike – a thrilling experience!

- Earn community service hours and receive a free t-shirt. Free parking is available.

To learn more about bike camp, watch this ABC TV news story that features campers and volunteers:
