A Day to Remember with Alan November
Last Friday, CSISD kicked off the Spring Teaching and Learning Series of exceptional guests who will be training administrators, teachers, and students in our district. The first guest speaker was technology guru and educational innovator, Alan November. Mr. November met with students from throughout CSISD for a breakfast seminar (including 3 CSHS students) and then trained administrators the rest of the day in our LGI. Mr. November is interesting to watch and learn from--part mad scientist, part genius, part storyteller. His session made me question and reflect on much of what I know (or think I know) about how this generation learns.
We will be weaving Mr. November's insights, technology tips, and philosophy of learning into future staff development, but I couldn't wait to share him with you. If you have a moment, this video is a good introduction into the out of the box thinking that characterizes his works. He also has a wonderful website, and some of you are already familiar with his work through the "Googling with Grimes" session presented a couple of years back at CSHS. CSHS has set the standard as educational leaders and innovators in CSISD. I can't wait to see how you will use the tools we will share with you from Alan November!
May you all have a wonderful week!
