March Newsletter Issue VII
Principals Message
March is the time to reflect, respect, and remember the contributions that women have made to our community that has had an impact on every aspect of our lives. From the Bay Area to Washington D.C., women have been on the move consistently blazing new trails and redefining gender roles. Many of us are blessed to see this hero up close in our homes known by title of mother, sister, aunt, or grandmother. This hero, who also served as our first teacher, is a pillar of strength providing food, clothing, shelter, wisdom and love. She has faced failure and used that testimony to inspire greatness in others to achieve their dreams. Oprah Winfrey summarized this character with the following quote, "Think like a queen. Queens are not afraid to fail. Failure is another stepping stone to greatness." This sentiment was echoed by each Spartan who shared from the heart tributes to great women in our society during the Emery Senate Women's History Month Celebration, ranging from our mothers, Malala Yousafzai, Rosa Parks, to Ellen Ochoa. We stand on their shoulders and because of them we can reach for the stars. Encourage women. Empower women. Listen to women.
Celebrate Women's History!
Be Positive. Be Purposeful. Be Productive. Be a Spartan Graduate. #SpartanStrong
