A Message from Principal Williams
June 3, 2023
Dear Amazing Moorefield Station Families,
It's hard to believe we are at the end of the school year. Your children have grown in so many ways over the year, and it has been an honor to be a part of their lives. As always, I thank you for sharing them with us. I would also like to thank you for a wonderful year! I am proud to serve such an amazing, supportive, and generous school community.
I would like to extend a special thank you to the parents that volunteered at our first Field Day in four years! I am grateful for our outstanding P.E. Team (Ms. Chavez, Mr. Jones, and Mrs. Martin). They planned and executed an exciting, fun-filled, and memorable day for our students, and the day would not have been the same without the contributions of our parent volunteers.
I would also like to recognize our amazing Music and Art Teams (Mrs. Woolston, Mr. Hickey, Mrs. Blinn, and Mrs. Mineo) for preparing our students for a dynamic 4th and 5th grade Chorus Concert and Art Show! It was a pleasure to see all of the families that attended this event!
Please celebrate the end of the school year with us at PTO Luau on Monday, June 5th, from 4:00 to 6:00. The flyer at the bottom of this message provides more details.
IMPORTANT: FOR SAFETY, STUDENTS MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY A PARENT FOR THE ENTIRE LUAU!

PROFILE OF AN LCPS GRADUATE & THE 5 C's
The Profile of an LCPS Graduate encompasses what's called the 5 C’s (listed below). As we continue to place students at the center of our work to prepare them to make meaningful contributions to the world, we will integrate the 5C’s into our daily learning, and I wanted to share them with our families:
COLLABORATOR
Collaborators work with and learn from others to interdependently solve problems, achieve goals, and complete tasks, while showing respect for diverse perspectives, remaining open to ideas, and learning to compromise.
CREATOR
Creators generate new ideas and/or build on existing ones by asking questions, thinking flexibly, and learning from experimentation, which leads to innovative approaches and solutions to authentic challenging problems.
CONTRIBUTOR
Contributors engage in work to impact the community (local, regional, global) by building awareness, utilizing resources, and/or developing solutions to authentic, challenging problems.
CRITICAL THINKER
Critical Thinkers analyze, question and synthesize ideas to evaluate information, make inferences, draw conclusions, establish patterns and connections, or solve problems.
COMMUNICATOR
Communicators express ideas clearly, use active listening skills, and anticipate and adjust to audience types, purposes, and settings, using appropriate resources to enhance that expression.
