Please refer to the Royal High School handbook on the school website for further information.

Students with a free period must exit in the East and West parking lots only.
All food deliveries must go to the front office. The food must have the student's name on the item. It will be held in the front office until lunch when it will be placed on a table outside by the front gates at the start of lunch. Students MAY NOT come into the front office for food deliveries. Any food deliveries made after lunch will be held until the end of 6th period.

ACADEMICS INFORMATION
SVUSD SENIOR EXIT SURVEY - Seniors Please Complete
Seniors, no matter your post high school path - we are proud you are a Highlander. Please make sure you fill out your Senior Exit Survey now.
The Senior Survey provides Royal High School with important information about our graduates. Each year graduating seniors complete this step. (And if you are college-bound, the survey helps us know where to send your final transcripts to the university you plan to attend.)
The Senior Exit Survey is now live in Naviance. It has been assigned as a Naviance "Task" to all 12th graders. Students will have until May 27th to complete.
Students can access the survey in their Naviance accounts under:
ABOUT ME > SURVEYS FROM MY SCHOOL>SIMI VALLEY UNIFIED EXIT SURVEY (or under "planner>tasks>tasks assigned to me"). For questions, speak to your counselor.
CAASPP STATE TESTING SPRING 2022
Royal 11th Grade Students and Families,
As communicated by SVUSD recently, district high schools are holding the annual statewide CAASPP testing for 11th grade students. Recently we visited each 11th grade English classroom to discuss the testing format and schedule and benefits of taking part. For detailed information about the 2022 CAASPP, please refer to the communication sent by SVUSD to all families in early April.
Under the state’s Every Child Succeeds Act, Royal is required to achieve 95% participation, and this is reflected on our statewide data “dashboard”. It is essential in assessing the learning needs of our Highlanders. Falling below this mark can negatively impact our school's rating.
As this test is designed for every general education 11th grader in California it is accessible and should not cause stress to our students. Students do not need to do any specific preparation for CAASPP, and it will be embedded in our typical bell schedule. Testing sessions will fit in each usual block period. CAASPP does not impact participants negatively as a student regardless of the score they earn.
Most importantly, taking the CAASPP can benefit students in their collegiate goals both academically and economically. Community colleges, CSUs, and institutions across California may use CAASPP scores (along with certain courses taken at Royal) to elevate a student’s initial placement in Math and English at the collegiate level. This may also eliminate the need for a possible pre-college mathematics remediation class (the summer before the freshman year in college) at certain institutions.
CAASPP testing will take place for Royal 11th graders in May. We have chosen courses/classrooms common to all our juniors.
Note: All juniors in AP and IB English, History, and Science courses will NOT participate in CAASPP until all AP and IB year-end exams are completed.
Students will need to bring headphones and their Chromebooks for testing. RHS has extra headphones for students in need, but supplies are limited.
