Maplebrook Elementary - April 2021

Howdy Parents!

I can't believe we are already to April! This year has gone by so quickly and the end of the school year will be here before we know it. Our students have been busy working on their projects- lots of research has been happening and it has been so fun watching them learn!! Over the next few weeks we will be starting to work on our final products. Our expo this year will be a digital showcase the week of May 17-21st!

Big picture

As we are nearing the end of the school year, we will begin to work on our final "product" relating to our GT projects. Over the next few weeks, I will be asking that students finish up completing their assignments (they have been doing great with this) and begin working on their final products. They may need some help with this part!!

We will not be having a face-to-face showcase this year, rather we will be doing things virtually with pre recordings of the students work. I will be asking that each student does a recording or a screencastify to display his/her project work they would like to share. A friend at another campus made these awesome recording resources for us to share that will be helpful with the "how to" for these options!

Students are welcome to do this part however they would like- some have completed things in a Google document, some have written things down, others have possibly started a Google slide. They may have also begun working on making a model of something to go along with their project if it allowed that as an option. They are welcome to do something digitally and share that as part of their recording or they could even create a poster board or tri-fold board with their information on it. The sky's the limit with how they want to do this part!

I would like for all recordings to be done by May 7th. Students who are virtual learners will be completing this part on their own at home. If you need any assistance or materials, please reach out to me! Face-to-face students will be working on this at school and will only be bringing things home if they need more time to complete or have something special that needs to be done at home.
