Step It Up Kids
This fun and exciting fundraiser, to support our Media Center and teacher grants, is off to an AWESOME start! On Tuesday, August 13, all grade levels attended a Kick-Off Assembly, held in the Bobcat Den, during their specials period. The students had a great time and were so excited! Those who brought in a "Golden Ticket," simply for sending texts/emails, were given three prizes on Wednesday/Thursday morning! It was so fun to watch the students' enthusiasm as they received their prizes! One lucky, 5th grader, Saanvi Sharma, was the winner of an iPad on Thursday! On Friday, Kindergarten student, Isabella Weeden, was the winner of a mini-fridge filled with cash! Important Dates to Remember: All donations are due by Tuesday, August 27! On Friday, September 27, we will celebrate our students' efforts towards our fundraising goal, with "Our Day of Awesomeness!" Our Day of Awesomeness will be an incredible set-up inspired by the hit TV shows Wipeout and American Ninja Warrior! ALL students will participate in the Day of Awesomeness. Thank you for your support!
Room Parents Needed!
Hey, Brookwood moms and dads! Over the past few weeks, the PTO has heard such encouraging feedback from parents who want to get more involved. It just so happens that our teachers are busy trying to fill one of the most important volunteer positions in our entire school... they are looking for room parents! If you are seeking a way to connect and give back, room parenting may be the perfect fit. We want you to know that the PTO is here to support you and make this job both easy and FUN. There is no better way to get involved, meet other parents, and connect with your teacher and child's classmates! You can even serve alongside a fellow class parent. Many moms and dads enjoy serving as co-room parents in order to collaborate and balance responsibilities. The PTO is here for you! Room parents are an integral extension of our PTO team, and we will provide guidance and support throughout the year. Some classes already have plenty of room parent coverage while others don't have any - please contact your classroom teacher and/or Tracie Andrews at tracieandrews.brookwoodpto@gmail.com.

Movie Night is Coming
PTO News
Thank You Bobcat Families for your amazing support during our Curriculum Nights! We so appreciated your patience as we assisted with PTO Sponsorships, helped with Spirit Wear sales and orders and supported Abby Ruffner, with Step It Up Kids! as she introduced our awesome new fundraiser to benefit our evolving media center! We know it is a busy time of year and continue to be amazed by ALL your Bobcat spirit! If you still need to join the PTO, please go to www.brookwoodpto.com! Every little thing you do supports our Bobcats, their teachers and classrooms, and our school in a huge way! It's going to be an awesome year!
A large part of PTO efforts during Curriculum Nights is feeding our teachers and staff! This year our Hospitality Committee secured Culver's for our first Curriculum Night, on August 8. Thank you Culver's for treating our amazing Brookwood staff to a dinner of burgers and chicken sandwiches, sides of salad, cole slaw and green beans and chocolate and vanilla custards for dessert! For Curriculum Night on Tuesday, August 13, our Hospitality Committee obtained generous donations from Five Guys to feed our staff! Thank you Five Guys for putting together an awesome burger bar with amazing toppings, grilled cheese sandwiches and veggie sandwiches with a side of regular and seasoned french fries! We love being able to feed our teachers and staff members on these long work days and it wouldn't be possible without the generous donations from vendors! Culver's and Five Guys, we thank you for your amazing support!
Attention Bobcat Familes! Please go to www.brookwoodpto.com and visit the calendar section of our website. We are diligently working to enter important dates, events, and event details and will soon link reservation and payment options to the new calendar! We are trying to simplify information for families so all you have to do is "click the calendar" and you will have everything you need all in one place!
Our PTO is always working hard to support and love on our teachers and staff! This week, through the amazing hands of our Hospitality Team, we sponsored an incredible Welcome Back Luncheon for teachers and staff! Thanks to Rosati's Pizza Sports Pub, we were able to treat our teachers to a delicious Italian meal of baked ziti, sausage penne, chicken alfredo, and fresh salads. Authentic Italian desserts of Sicilian pistachio cake, tiramisu, lemon drop cookies, and cannoli cupcakes were graciously provided by Brookwood mom, Lee Lapolla, who spent her entire Sunday hand-making these incredible sweet treats! The teachers are STILL talking about how delicious the desserts tasted! Thank you so much, Lee Lapolla! Supporting our school—students, staff, and parents alike—is a total team effort, for sure! Our hardworking PTO couldn’t do it without the help of our amazing Brookwood parents and awesome community vendor partners! Thank you!!!
Throughout the school year families will have many different opportunities to participate in and support various PTO and school events and fundraisers! We have worked hard to provide a variety of opportunities from which families may select the events and fundraisers that are most appealing to them and determine those they wish to support through the giving of time, talents and resources. Brookwood Elementary School is incredibly fortunate to have such amazing families who support our Bobcats, staff, PTO and school in so many ways both big and small!
