Robeson County

County Government and County Seats

Robeson County is located on the border of North Carolina and South Carolina. It is located near Cumberland, Bladen, Columbus, Hoke, Scotland, Pillon, Horry, Marlboro Counties in the Coastal Regions. The County was given the name in honor of Col. Thomas Robeson. The County was founded in 1787 as well as its seat Lumberton, which was created by the Act of the North Carolina General Assembly.

Actractions

If you are thinking about staying in Robeson for a while then you would have plenty to look at and visit while on your stay. Robeson County is famous for the Lumber River and the Sand dunes, which are located close to the beach. There is also the Lumber River State Park and the Robeson County Museum. But if you are more of a performing arts fan than you could go to the Givens Performing Arts Center.

Lumberton Government

Lumberton is the County Seat for Robeson County. Lumberton elected Ramond Pennington as the Mayor for the city as well as the Councilmen. The City Manager is hired by the city to keep everything in order and to make sure that ceremonial dates and activities go on as planed and plan them.
