Summer Opportunities at CHS
CHS summer programs will run from July 18th- August 11th; Monday through Thursday from 8am-11am at CHS.
Summer Scholars:
Summer Scholars is an opportunity for students to remediate courses in which they did not earn a passing grade but did achieve a 50% average or higher. Courses will be offered in English, Social Studies, Math, and Science. Departments are currently assessing student performance, and outreach will be made to students once their status is solidified. This may not be until 4th term grades are complete/nearing completion but some students may be contacted sooner if their first three terms would tentatively qualify them for this opportunity.
Above and Beyond Enrichment Courses:
CHS will also be offering enrichment courses in a variety of subject areas. These courses will each be one week and will be taught by members of the CHS faculty. We are finalizing the proposals at this time and more information including registration information will be shared soon. These courses will meet during the same 4-week period as Summer Scholars which will allow students not enrolled in Summar Scholars to attend more than one enrichment course if so desired. Stay tuned for more details.

Handbook Highlights- Attendance Procedures
The CHS Handbook Review Committee has conducted an extensive review of our current attendance procedures and constructed some much-needed recommendations for improvement. We are in the final stages of preparing those amendments and will share that information with families within the next few weeks. I commend the committee for their thoughtful approach to this work- it is time and labor-intensive for sure, but the end result will certainly support our efforts to enhance engagement, accountability, and student achievement.
