Library Link

June/ July 2018

Director's Note

Does everyone feel that excitement in the air? It sort of feels like Christmas at the library. I will let you in on a secret… every time new books come in the mail I feel like it is Christmas! But that is not what I am talking about. I am talking about SUMMER READING! And this year LIBRARIES ROCK! Well, librarians have always known that- but now we get to shout it from the rooftops since it is the summer reading theme!

In the last newsletter I talked a little about the performers that will be at the Family Life Center. But did you know that we have a ton of things happening at the library? New this year is Family Night every Thursday at 6:30pm. There will be movie nights, games, even a magician coming! And Warren County Conservation is coming with a real owl to teach us all about owls! Due to huge demand, Tinker Time will happen two times now. Mondays at 10:30am and Wednesdays at 2pm. This summer we are even going to make a potato powered light bulb!

4th and 5th graders will have special events, as will teens. These events take place after hours. And adults take note- we have events just for you! Cribbage is still every Thursday but now we have adult make and take once a month too. And we will have a funny and talented author join us June 21st at 1pm.

Add all this on top of the regular storytimes we have and all the stuff that will be happening offsite- is it any wonder that librarians are rock stars and LIBRARIES ROCK?!
