National Bulldogs are Beautiful Day - April 21

We are asking ALL of our Grange Hall families to join us in celebrating "National Bulldogs are Beautiful Day" this Tuesday, April 21st. Wear your favorite GHES spirit wear and show your love for our school community via social media. Post pictures or share a story that celebrates the many reasons why our school community is beautiful.

GHES Engages in Virtual Learning

  • We will be providing new learning opportunities on Monday, April 20. In an effort to reduce the number of emails parents receive, we are asking you to go directly to our GHES Learning Resources site. Most teachers have activities posted on Canvas and/or Google classroom. All assignments will be posted and communicated through the GHES Learning Resources site. Teachers will still send a weekly email to communicate their online learning discussion schedule or if there are individual messages for students' families.

  • Daily office hours for GHES teachers are 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. These hours provide a consistent time (Monday - Friday) that students and parents can reach out to ask questions and share information.

  • For families that require paper packets, you may pick up these materials at GHES beginning Monday, April 20 at Noon. All materials will be located in a filing cabinet outside of the main doors labeled by grade level.

Kindergarten Registration 2020

School Counseling Resources and Talking to Your Child About COVID-19

Chesterfield Citizen Pen Pal Opportunity

Chesterfield’s Citizen Information and Resources department is collecting drawings, cards, and letters for residents in senior living facilities. The hope is that these items will brighten the resident’s days and remind them that our community cares about them. Additionally, this gives parents an opportunity to talk with their children about the importance of caring for our community during this difficult time and engage children in giving back.

CCPS Call Center

Chesterfield County Public Schools will launch Call CCPS in an effort to continue to support Chesterfield County students and families with their needs related to academics, technology, and social and emotional questions. The new call center will also help connect families with community resources they may need during the COVID-19 pandemic. Call CCPS will be open Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. through June 12. The call center officially opens on Monday, April 20. Chesterfield County Public Schools families can call 804-639-8689 for support. Translation support will be available immediately in Spanish, or within a short period of time in other languages through the school division’s language line support program.

Chromebook Support

Chesterfield County Public Schools has developed a plan to provide support for school division-issued Chromebooks during this extended school closure:

  • Every Tuesday at Thomas Dale and Matoaca High Schools from 9 a.m. until noon

  • Every Thursday at CTC@Hull and Robious Middle from 1 - 4 p.m.

  • A parent and/or student will need to provide their student ID number in order to adjust the school division’s inventory records. Support is limited to students in grades 5-12, who already are participating in the Chromebook take-home program. Appropriate social distancing protocol will be followed to protect students and staff. For clarification purposes: While the CCPS Internet network is available to families while in the parking lot, the school division is not giving out free hotspot devices at these repair stations.

CCPS serves meals during COVID-19

To meet the needs of students during COVID-19 school closures, Chesterfield County Public Schools continues provide meals for students for pick-up without charge and regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability and without discrimination. Meals will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis at the sites and times listed below. Please note these important pieces of information related to the distribution of meals:​​​​​​​

  • Children do not have to be present to pick up meals. To pick up meals without a student present, please tell the staff member your student’s first and last names and age.

  • On Mondays and Wednesdays, two lunches and two breakfasts will be provided for each child.

  • On Fridays, three lunches and three breakfasts will be provided for each child.

  • No meal service is available on Tuesdays or Thursdays.

  • Visit mychesterfieldschools.com to learn more about locations and distribution dates/times.

PTA Updates

Hello GHES families,

We hope you are happy and healthy. Our next General PTA Membership Meeting will be held thisThursday, April 23rd at 6pm online through Zoom. It will start at 6pm and we need you.

We will be having our Election of Officers for 2020-2021 and we will be voting on monies that we raised from the Fun Run. We need to establish a quorum (10 members) to proceed with these business items. See you on Thursday. Use the links below to get onto the meeting.
