Knightly Update May 16, 2021
Edition Vol 9 Issue 39
I suppose since we are officially under ten days from the end of the school year, it is time to begin a daily countdown (I'm sure some of you may have started even earlier!). While I realize the end of the year is right around the corner, I want to remind our students to ensure they continue to stay focused, complete their work, and attend class as expected. Keep doing what needs to be done to end the year to the best of everyone's ability.
Congratulations to our Coed Golf team on earning the AIA Division III State Runner Up Trophy. The team played extremely well at this year's state championship finishing second to a talented Scottsdale Christian team. Regardless, the team had a phenomenal season, being crowned Section champions and State Runner Up. I am very proud of all our Knight golfers and for the class they showed on and off the course this season. Congrats!
As you are know, the Class of 2021 Awards Night is Tuesday. This event will be held in person in our gym and begins at 6:00 PM. Due to seating limitations, only two guests per senior may attend this ceremony. The ceremony will be livestreamed and recorded so other family members can watch the event and enjoy the celebration. I am excited to recognize our seniors at Tuesday's ceremony.
On Thursday our underclass Awards Night will be available via our school's YouTube channel at 6:00 PM. Students will be recognized for their academic efforts and our Students of the Year will also be acknowledged in the recording. A link will be sent to all families on Thursday and the video will remain available on our YouTube channel for your viewing convenience.
The Class of 2021 will be taking their final exams on Thursday and Friday this week. There is NO early release schedule either of these days. School will begin and end as usual (i.e. 7:45 AM & 2:35 PM). On Friday, May 21st we will honor the Class of 2021 as they exit our campus for the final time with our Senior Clap Out. Families are welcome to attend and watch their child leave ACP one last time. It will be a bittersweet but proud moment.
It is hard to believe the Class of 2021's high school career is coming to an end. It is always so exciting to celebrate their graduation from high school but sad knowing the faces we have seen on our campus for so many years won't be present next year. I look forward to cheering them on as they leave our campus on Friday and congratulating them when they receive their diploma next week. Thank you seniors for all you have done for our school and for one another.
Have a very nice week. Later this week, a special Knightly Update will be sent sharing information about our new school including start and end times, student dress standards, and summer events. As always, please contact me if you have any questions. Thank you for your support of our school community. Enjoy the week.
Rob Bickes
Principal

2021-2022 Student Parking Space Selection
ACP High School students that will drive to school may select their parking space prior to the start of the new school year. Parking spaces may be selected beginning the week of May 17. The Class of 2022 may select their space on Monday, May 17, the Class of 2023 on Tuesday, May 18, and the Class of 2024 on Wednesday, May 19. Students may begin to come to the office to select their space during club time, passing periods, lunch, or after school on their assigned day. Rest assured, we have plenty of parking spaces available for students at our new campus.
To be eligible to select a space, students must complete the Parking Application Form and MUST have a current and valid driver’s license and insurance card. Copies of both items must be uploaded when submitting the parking permit application. Learning permits are not accepted. Parking permits are $80.00 for the school year and no refunds will be given.
Students and parents will be required to sign the application form indicating they have read the following rules and guidelines. By electronically signing the application form, the student agrees to abide by and follow the rules as listed.
General Parking Rules & Information
- Students will have an assigned parking space and must park in that space.
- Parking permits are not to be shared, borrowed, purchased, or sold to/from another student.
- Students must always have their parking hangar visible. If lost, it must be replaced for $5.
- Student vehicles may be searched if reasonable suspicion warrants. Students must cooperate with authorities if access to a vehicle is requested.
- Students must lock (secure) their vehicle at all times. All students park at their own risk. CUSD/ACP is not responsible for any theft, vandalism, or damage to any vehicle or personal property inside a vehicle.
- All accidents and/or vandalism should be reported immediately to school security.

- Violation of parking rules may result in the loss of parking privileges and permit without refund of fees.
- Students may NOT park along neighborhood streets (all student vehicles must be parked in the school lot).
Families will be able to pay the $80 parking permit fee via this summer's Virtual Day of the Knights (Virtual Day of the Knights will open Thursday, July 15). Fees must be paid by 11:59 PM, July 23rd.. If fees are not paid by this time, the space will be released and reassigned.
