Principal's Corner
Thank you, parents, for your patience, grace and support through our 2020-2021 Universal Remote School opening this week. It has been amazing seeing the student engagement virtually as we adapt to our new learning platforms of Microsoft Teams and Seesaw. I am asking for your continued flexibility and support, as the District and state level changes continue to happen that are beyond my control. With this in mind, I plan on having virtual parent update meetings as needed. Thus, it is imperative that you connect with the school via the Infinite Campus Parent Portal and ClassDojo so that you can stay abreast to new information consistently. Lastly, here are a few reminders for you!
- Brookview’s website is designed to support. Any information related to your child’s learning can be found there.
- If you are experiencing technical difficulties with your Fulton County issued device, you MUST call the FCS Universal Remote Hotline at (470) 254-2300. Brookview does not have devices to swap out if your child’s device is malfunctioning. Please understand the device hotline is experiencing extremely high call volumes. Be patient but be persistent. Please don’t give up. Keep in mind there are 93,000 students in Fulton County Schools.
- Every Wednesday through our drive-thru distribution, Brookview will provide Meals for our students free of cost from 11:00 am -1:00 pm. (5 meals are provided for each child that attends the school).
- Pre-K- 2nd grade learning packets will be available during the drive thru distribution.
- If you are unsure of your child’s instructional schedule, they are posted on Brookview’s website and ClassDojo. Please contact your child’s teacher(s) for specific questions related to your schedule.
- Please be reminded that ATTENDANCE MASTERS! For Pre-K-2nd, weekly submissions are required for your child to be marked present. Submissions could be in the following forms: picture of the District packet or student work, video, Seesaw activity, returning the packet during the food distribution, email, scan, etc.). Parent communication counts as attendance but it does NOT replace grading. Therefore, you must submit your child’s work. Effective August 24th, submissions should be made by Fridays at 8:00 am. If work is not submitted on Fridays, your child may receive an incomplete in the gradebook which impacts their report card. Please communicate with your child’s teacher if you cannot submit the work by Friday.
- 3rd -5th grade parents, your child must be in attendance in MS Teams for all core content areas (Science and Social Studies but especially reading and math). Your students will receive grades in all content areas.
- We will begin I-Ready Testing for grades 3-5th virtually beginning the week of August 24th. Below is the test administration schedule. Your child’s teacher will be reaching out to you and providing additional information about the process. Parent I-Ready Guide

Creating an Infinite Campus Parent Portal
The Infinite Campus portals - Campus Parent and Campus Student - provide access to information for all enrolled students in their household. Information includes grades, attendance, assignments, and school announcements.
Note: Parents must register the first time they are accessing their account.
All portal accounts require a 1-time activation to create your ID and password. You must be a parent/guardian of a current FCS student to activate an account.
**Please email Ms. Forniss at fornissj@fultonschools.org for Activation Key**
To verify identity, you will be asked to provide the following information about 1 student in your household:

Attendance Matters: Strive for Less Than Five!
Hey Pandas,
Although Universal Remote Learning is new territory for us all, we are excited to take on this challenge as a team. Consequently, it is important for our students to be present daily.
PARENTS WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT!
Attendance this year is critical. We are still Striving for Less Than Five! Remember the Georgia Law constitutes a child as truant after 5 days of unexcused absences. Communication is a big part of our attendance. Please make sure that you are consistently communicating with your child(ren)’s teacher daily. Consequences of chronic absences may include community service, fines, and/or jail-time. Together, We Can Do This!!
Thanks,
Ms. Kendrick
