Panther News

Ernie Pyle Elementary School ~ January 20, 2023

Message from the Principal

We enjoyed a wonderful short week of learning. We have had many celebrations this week, including Student of the Month for all grade levels. We are elated to share the news that our student, Aria Wilson, has been selected to be recognized by ACSA Region XIV for the Every Student Succeeding Award. We are so proud of all of our panthers for the work they do to bring a PAWSitive light into the world.

Ernie Pyle is excited that we are going to be offering a parent workshop series for families to take advantage of. You received a flyer this week for the Latino Family Literacy Project. This class will help parents connect with ways to improve their student's academic journey. It will be taught in English by Mrs. Ashton each Monday for ten weeks from 3-4 pm. Childcare is available. Parents must RSVP for this amazing class. Don't miss out, space is limited!

Next week, we are excited to participate in Kindness Week. Each day the students will be able to participate in kindness activities and dress-up days to show that they are committed to our PAWSitive climate and treating others with kindness.

Commonsense.org

In a world where our students have access to information at the touch of a button, we are working to prepare them to continue to make PAWSitive choices when online. The website https://www.commonsense.org/education offers families resources and newsletters, information about movies, and best media lists for families. Please check out this information and discuss it with your students so that we can ensure that our students have the tools necessary to make great choices when in person and online.

Paper Tutoring

Students have access in their Clever accounts to a program called Paper Tutoring. This program is for students in grades 4 through 12 and it is completely free on-demand tutoring assistance. Please remind your students that this is available to them should they want or need any help on any assignments.
