Volunteer

The holiday season is a great time to help other people by volunteering. There are many organizations around the city that need assistance. The Elf Louise project helps provide gifts for 19,000 kids in San Antonio. They need volunteers to help wrap and deliver those gifts. For more information go to http://elflouise.org. The San Antonio Food Bank provides meals for families all over San Antonio. They need volunteers to help with packaging and boxing meals. For more information go www.safoodbank.org . There are many animals in our local shelters. They need help in caring for the kennels, signing up people for adoptions and in the thrift store. For more information email (training@SAhumane.org)

SMALL COUNSELING GROUPS

Small Groups are underway at Warren and CCA. Visiting with students in a small group setting allows Counselors to address common issues that many students are facing, and provides a safe space where the students can gain personal insight and coping skills, with the realization that they are not alone in their journey.

Some of the current small group topics taking place this month include:

Families in Transition

Empowering Young Women

Welcome to Warren Adjustment

Building Academic Success

Next Steps- Preparing for life after high school

Getting a Jump Start on College

Getting Past It- working on overcoming obstacles in life.

If you feel your student could benefit from small group counseling, please contact your child's counselor!
