Rubella Vaccine

It prevents Rubella, also known as German measles.
Age Groups/Circumstances
Given at 1 yr of age and after
Symptoms
- Fever
- Body aches
- Swollen glands
- Runny nose
- Cough
- A rash that spreads from head to toe for 3 days
- Joint aches
- Congenital rubella syndrome in newborn babies with mothers that had Rubella during pregnancy
Side Effects of the Vaccine (only happen in 5% of people)
- Fever
- Mild rash
- Joint aches (in 25% of adult women)
