Chester Elementary School

We Are Thankful!
Personally, as I reflect on my very first trimester at Chester Elementary, I am so thankful for the wonderful students, caring and committed CES staff, and incredibly supportive parents - all working together to provide an exceptional elementary experience for our students. I have had the opportunity to be principal of 3 other elementary schools, and CES is a special place like no other school I've experienced before. Students, staff and parents continue to amaze me each day with their desire to learn, passion to support students and interests in supporting the school. I'm also thankful for our many new Chester friends, this beautiful community we can now call our home, and the variety of outdoor opportunities this area provides for all of us. (I'm still searching for those hot fishing spots!) My wife (Christie) and I thank you all for welcoming us to your wonderful community.
During this Thanksgiving week, please enjoy the extra time with your children and family, count your many blessings, plan some quality time/activities with your children, and know that we will be excited to welcome back all of our students on Monday, November 26, to start our 2nd trimester of learning at CES! Thank you!
Thank you Elks Lodge for providing 3rd graders a dictionary (& $1 hidden in the dictionary!)
Thank you Mr. Scott Cory for visiting last Friday! (Chester principal legened in the early 2000's - pictured with our wonderful Ms. Nicole!)

Parents Please Help - A Few Minutes Will Help Us With $$$ For Our Schools!
Now that all Plumas schools are able to offer free breakfast and lunch for all students, and we don't require applications for free or reduced meals, we need to collect income data to qualify for other services, such as Title 1. We've developed a field in our Aeries Student Data Information System for parents to complete this quick and easy process. Please click this link: https://plumasusd.asp.aeries.net/student/LoginParent.aspx?page=default.aspx and follow the "Income verification" (pdf) instructions attached to this newsletter.
We appreciate you taking the time to complete this process. Thank you!
