A Note From the Principal
Salk Elementary Families:
My first week is in the books. It has been an honor getting to meet all of the parents and amazing students and teachers at Salk. This truly is a special place and I am glad to become part of the family.

Science Olympiad
Attention 4th, 5th, and 6th grade families!
Last week, your student brought home a Science Olympiad informational packet and sign up form. Please look this over and consider having your child be a part of this amazing opportunity that promotes STEM, problem-solving, collaboration, and fun!
If this is something your student is interested in, please return the form to their teacher no later than Friday, December 9th. If you have any questions, please contact Lisa Clark- mrs.lisaclark@gmail.com
Virtual Learning Available for Second Semester
Now through December 6, families can request a change in the learning mode for their student(s) for the second semester of the 2022-2023 school year. Students who are currently enrolled in-person can switch to virtual, and students who are enrolled in virtual can switch to in-person. If you do not wish to switch your child’s learning mode, no action is necessary.
Submitting the form linked below not guarantee a request will be granted. Requests will be reviewed by building and district leadership and the parent/guardian will be notified. If approved, the change will be effective for the second semester (January 3, 2022 - June 9, 2023). Once a request has been approved, it will be for the duration of the second semester. Please carefully consider this semester-long commitment before submitting this application, as requests to change throughout the second semester will not be granted.
If you are interested in changing your child’s learning mode for the second semester, please fill out this application.

Ready or Not - Cold Weather is Here!
We're starting to see MANY students bundled up each day, which is great! Please be sure to send your child to school dressed for the weather each day. Students will start needing warm coats, gloves, hats, scarves, and/or boots daily throughout the winter.
Please take time to label each and every item- because our lost and found gets bombarded with lost winter accessories throughout the season.
Please note that, per Board Policy, we will be having outdoor morning lineup and heading outdoors for our 20 minute recess(es) if the windchill is 10 degrees or warmer.
Time outdoors is time well spent for kids, in all seasons.
