Are you a Simonton Track Star?
As we move into the final weeks of semester 1, we will cheer on and recognize those students who are “on track” and have completed all assignments and assessments. Honor roll and other recognitions will take place after the 1st semester ends. This is only focusing on work completion.
In-person and digital students will receive a recognition certificate and a treat bag on Friday, December 11, 2020. Digital students may pick up treats and certificates in the car rider lane from 9:00 - 2:00 pm.
Students identified as track stars will be notified on December 7, 2020.
Thank you for helping us keep everyone safe and healthy!

The district will add an additional day of teacher planning at the beginning of the semester, which will mean the first day of the semester for students will be January 7, 2021. The second adjustment calls for the addition of four digital learning days during the semester (January 26, March 2, March 16, and April 20). These will be asynchronous learning days where students will learn from home, providing teachers additional days for planning during the semester.

Hour of Code Week
Computer Science Education Week kicks of Monday! CSEdWeek is an annual call to action to inspire K-12 students to learn computer science, advocate for equity in computer science education, and celebrate the contributions of students, teachers, and partners to the field. In celebration of this week, we hope to have students partake in coding, essentially, celebrating the Hour of Code Week.
There are so many awesome coding activities that students can participate in... from Code.org, Hour of Code, or Tynker.
- Code.org: https://studio.code.org/courses
- Hour of Code: https://hourofcode.com/us/learn
All 3 of these websites have been added to the eCLASS landing page in the webtiles section.
Digital Students have already been exposed to coding during this round of both Technology & Media Specials. Please take a moment next week to once again log-on and choose an activity that interests you!
