A Letter from our VPFA President
Dear Valhalla Families,
Welcome back! Can you believe we’ve been back at school for nearly a month?! Your Executive Board has been working hard to get this year started off right. As a reminder, every parent and caregiver of a Valhalla student is a member of VPFA, and we rely on your contributions and involvement to make our school so special.
Our All-in-One day was a huge success, thanks to our event chair– Marcie Stewart! We raised a record high amount of money, over $45,000 – which will be split 50/50 between the VPFA general fund and the Classroom Enhancement Fund that gets distributed directly to our teachers. Thank you to Marcie, to all of the volunteers and to all of the parents who donated.
Spirit Wear has been another record-breaking success! Thank you to Corinne Donohue who spearheaded the effort to procure and sell our limited-edition tie-dye t-shirts. We sold more shirts than we ever have in recent history. Corinne is hard at work developing an online store which we will open soon allowing families to buy traditional Valhalla gear.
We have several events this month:
VPFA General Meeting Wed 9/15 at 6pm via Zoom
Welcome Back Dance Fri 9/17 at 6pm on the blacktop
Community Service Day Sat 9/25 at 9am
Details for all of these events can be found in Konstella. If you are not on Konstella, please download it and use the code SXCTQR. We will use Konstella to communicate all year long. Also, if you are on Facebook, please join the Valhalla Elementary School Parents.
Looking forward to a bright and fulfilling 2021-2022 school year!
Thank you,
Marni Hutchins

Valhalla Fun Run is coming up!
Dear Valhalla Community,
Our Viking Fun Run fundraiser will kick off in just 3 weeks on October 4th. Our goal is to raise $100,000 for technology, STEAM, multicultural education, instructional assistants, safety and to strengthen our school community. We’ve asked our friends at Booster to power our fundraiser to make it more profitable, fun, and easy for everyone!
Here’s what all students can get excited about:
• Fun, engaging character development lessons
• A high-energy event to give our school a much needed boost of fun!
If your family feels it’s not in the position to financially support the school, that’s ok. Families can actually support our school by also SHARING about our fundraiser with friends and family online. Sharing IS supporting. Our goal is 100% participation!
In case you missed it, check out this video explaining more about why this fundraiser is so important this year.
Key dates to remember:
• REGISTRATION & DONATION OPENS - 9/21 (Register on MYBOOSTER.COM!)
• Fundraiser Kick Off - 10/4
• Event Day - 10/13
Thank you for supporting Valhalla through the Viking Fun Run.
