Possible Inclement Weather for Monday

Weather changes quickly and we know that it is possible for some icy roads Monday morning in some area. I realize that our KAES families come from many directions and distences to school. If school is cancelled or delayed you will receive a parent alert. Please use the following guidelines.

1. You know your area best. Never drive to school if the roads near you are not safe. Just call/email and inform the school.

2. KAES will follow our local public school (KISD) for bad weather closings.

3. A parent alert will be sent if school is cancelled or delayed.

4. When your children come to school please keep in mind weather conditions and make sure they are dressed to be outside.

KAES Gymnasium Student Signing Event

Next Thursday KAES will have a gymnasium signing event for all students. So many have made it possible for this new gymnasium to be built and we would like to recognize all of our students for helping with this project. Most all our students have helped by writing personal letters to family and friends asking for help funding this project and we have had many students over the last four years forgo birthday presents, instead asking for monies to be given to the gym in lieu of presents. This Thursday every student will be able step into our new gym and begin to see and feel what it will be like in this new building. Each class will have a selected beam where each student will be able to sign their name as a time capsule for being involved in establishing this new structure. We are sorry that due to Covid-19 we can not have parents join us for this celebration. However, we will have another similar event for our church and community.

4th Grade Reviews Bible Eras

This week the fourth grade acted out a review of all the Bible eras that we have discussed in chapels this year. It was really cool seeing a living review of the Bible. We are looking forward to learning all about the New Testament. Great job 4th grade!

MAP Testing for our 2nd Semester will begin next week.

This week will be our MAP test for 2nd semester. All students in Kindergarten through 8th grade will test. The results from this test will provide us with what the child knows and is ready to learn next. We will also be able to see how they are progressing from the first test in September. We will use this information to track each student's growth over the year. MAP tests the students' knowledge in Math, Science and Language arts to assist teachers in setting goals in learning.

Help your child do their best.

1. Get 8 hours of sleep

2. Eat a healthy breakfast

3. Get exercise

4. Drink a lot of water

5. Avoid sugar
