November 8-- No School... Election Day

November 17-- Marvelous Mavs Days for 5th to 8th grades

November 23, 24, & 25-- No School... Happy Thanksgiving!

What did you do over Fall Break?

We would love to know what you did over Fall Break! Did you travel? Did you hang out at home playing video games? Did you work on schoolwork? Did you work at your job? Send us a picture and a caption, and if we get enough, we'll make a student video like the one above. Email them to deana.bishop@maryville-schools.org

Mandatory ACT Retakes for All Seniors

Tuesday, October 18th at Maryville High School---- All MVS Seniors will retake the ACT test on October 18th at Maryville High School. This retake is a free, on-line test opportunity provided by the state of Tennessee.

Who: ALL MVS Seniors
When: 8:15 until 12:15
Where: Maryville High School
How: Arrive at the MHS front office by 8:15 with a charged laptop, an ID, pencils, and an approved calculator. (See ACT approved calculator info here.)

Note- Seniors all received an personal email with an attachment and directions to register for the ACT. Please be sure to complete that before October 18th.

Need ACT Practice?

As a MVS student, you have access to an ACT Review tool within ClassLink! You can choose the subject you want to study and the score range that you are shooting for. Or you can enter your last ACT scores, and the software will create an individualized plan just for you!

To access this ACT Review practice, login to ClassLink through the Login app, and then click on iXL, Skill Plans, Test Prep, and ACT.

Senior Success Night @ MHS

Monday, October 17 from 5:00-7:00 pm at Maryville High School------- MCS school counselors will host this year's Senior Success Night on Monday, October 17 from 5:00-7:00 pm at Maryville High School. All seniors and their parents are highly encouraged to attend this event. Experts from college financial aid offices will be on hand to offer FAFSA help (please bring your laptop and know your FAFSA login information!). In addition, representatives from local community colleges will be available to answer questions about admissions. Individuals from area businesses and recruiting firms will attend and will discuss future employment opportunities for our students upon high school graduation. This is a night not to be missed!

Counselor's Corner

For Seniors-- The deadline to complete the TN Promise Scholarship application is November 1, 2022. No exceptions! Please visit tnpromise.gov for more information and to apply. Are you a parent of a UT bound student? If you think your child may be a candidate for the UT Promise Scholarship, he/she must complete the TN Promise application by November 1, 2022 and the UT Promise application by December 15, 2022. https://tennessee.edu/ut-promise/

The following colleges will have representatives at Maryville High School on these days from 9:55 AM to 10:10 AM. If you are a MVS junior or senior and want to visit with the representative, please check in at MHS front desk by 9:45 AM and then make your way to their guidance office.
