Message from Mrs. Barber - South Parking Lot
Hello Northeast Families,
Safety is our top priority, and we must regularly reflect on and reevaluate our arrival and dismissal process. The south parking lot process has changed over the years. After feedback during the 20-21 school year, we removed the white parking lines on the north side of the south side parking lot.
As a result, there is no parking, and cones are there instead. However, sometimes the cones are removed to plow snow and not replaced after the parking. Parking is still not allowed even if cones are missing.
Please review the details:
Arrival Process:
- You may pull up by the cones, and students may exit their vehicles.
- There are signs that state, "BEGIN student unloading HERE" and "END students unloading HERE." (Only applies for morning arrival and these signs will be removed soon to reduce confusion.)
- If cones are missing, please do not park on the north side of the south parking lot.
Dismissal Process:
- You must park and walk to the sidewalk to pick up your student.
- Students should not walk through the parking lot without an adult.
- Nobody should park on the north side of the south parking lot.
- Please do not park there even if the cones are removed.
- If there are no parking spots left in the parking lot, you must keep moving and not impede traffic.
I appreciate and welcome your feedback and ideas. I plan to work with our safety team this summer to ensure we have the safest and most efficient process at Northeast Elementary.
Thank you for your partnership and support,
Kristin Barber
