If you smoke you can and will increase your risk of developing lung cancer by 20-30%. You can increase you risk of developing heart disease by 25-30%. You have more Respiratory infections. Children whose parents smoke around them have more ear infections. SIDS is the sudden, unexplained, unexpected death of an infant under the age of one. Third-hand smoke is especially harmful to infants who are exploring their environment.
