St Bernadette's Primary School
NEWSLETTER | TERM 2 | WEEK 4 | 19 May 2023

Phew… We made it!
Good afternoon all and thanks for all your support in helping our amazing students through two weeks of swimming lessons. Your support in keeping students organised, well rested and positive has helped our staff immensely. They too have done an excellent job, been extremely flexible in timetable and duty changes and many have helped out across the school to make these two weeks run smoothly. Finally, a huge thanks to Lisa King as the Timetabling Queen and point of contact for all our staff, this was no small job and we all appreciate her efforts.
Now that swimming is done, our Student Leaders will be doing some spot checks in classes next week to make sure our uniforms are looking their best. Our lost property basket is looking particularly full at the moment so please don’t forget to check it if you have some lost items!
This morning Fred and I joined in our Walk to School morning which was an awesome way to start the day. Many of our students are already walking, riding, scooting or skateboarding to school regularly and it was great to have such a massive turnout. Bernie Bear even made an appearance!
Please can I also remind parents to please respond when we send out absentee texts each morning. Your children's safety/whereabouts is paramount and an unresolved absence is a concern. Our online absentee form is easy to complete and can be found on our website: https://www.stbernadettes.wa.edu.au/families
Finally, I would like to give a massive congratulations to Lily S in Year 6 who has been selected to train with the WA state footy team.
Enjoy the beautiful Autumn weather and we look forward to a week of solid, uninterrupted teaching and learning next week! It will be Wellness Week here at school so few classroom interruptions, no homework (except reading) and our teachers will be planning some special activities to promote happiness and wellbeing!
Have a great weekend,
Geordie
