A Message from the Principal...
Dear friends,
We have exciting learning planned for this week’s minimum days on September 24th and 25th. We will meet in the library promptly at 1:15 and our learning will continue until 3:30. Instructional assistants and any other classified staff, we would love to have you join us if your schedule allows.
Tuesday will be a day of learning and Wednesday will be a day of application. On Tuesday, Mike Gizzo (Voyager) and Megan Gross (SAI) will lead sessions geared to help us grow in our ability to increase student engagement through technology, co-teaching models, and accommodations. On Wednesday, we will break into collaborative teams and tailor lessons to apply our newfound learning. All of this is connected to our theory of action - increasing student engagement through rigorous learning tasks. These site based goals have been shared with the Superintendent’s Cabinet and will be built into our School Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA).
What to bring:
First and foremost, your love for learning! Secondly, you will need to bring an existing lesson that you intend to teach prior to the end of October. This lesson will be your lens as our presenters share their expertise with us. On Wednesday, you will begin the process of revising your existing lesson to reflect the new strategies and supports you have learned. We look forward to supporting you as you adapt your lessons and then observing the impact on your students during the month of October.
Looking forward to our learning sessions!
Have a great week!
Kelly
