Tustumena Elementary Newsletter
January 28, 2020
Dear Tustumena Families,
I would like to extend a huge “Thank you” to you all for purchasing $3000 worth of ski equipment for our cross country ski program. You may be thinking, “I didn’t give them the money.” But you did. Even if you are not a PTO officer or don’t attend the PTO meetings you attend our fundraisers and are a part of the positive atmosphere that is referred to as “Tustumena.” Along with other recent success stories such as an outstanding Christmas concert and being recognized as a National Distinguished school, these skis are testimony to the support parents show to our school. So again, “Thank you.”
Looking down the pike for next year, we are planning on constructing an outdoor ice skating area. Of course, this is largely dependent on the weather next fall but if it is possible, we will be looking at a rink about the size of a regular hockey rink. It will be of simple design but we will still need help with snow removal, ice maintenance, and donated equipment. The rink will be available for the community after school as well. I just want to let you know now so you can plan accordingly if this is your kind of project.
Thank you.
Doug Hayman
Thank you to Fred Meyer and Participating Families
