Valley High School Update
Demonstrating the Valley Standard in the 4 A's
September 16, 2022
Greetings!
This week I have noticed that we have settled into our routine as a school and the newness of the beginning of the school year is wearing off. This is a very important time for our kids because this is when habits start becoming solidified. For those students for whom school may be a struggle, now is the time to continue making good choices by being in school everyday and attending all classes. Now is the time to avoid making choices not in our best interest by staying home from school and avoiding class. Parents, also make sure to continually touch base with your students about how school is going and how they are feeling. Stress, anxiety, and depression are very present realities for a lot of our kids. Let's make sure we are helping them navigate life by staying close and checking in.
Go Tigers!!!
ACADEMICS
This is the perfect time to establish positive habits and routines for school success! Let's focus on being to class on time and practicing 4CP (Critical Thinking, Continuous Learning, Communication, Collaboration and Professionalism) in all of our classes and interactions.
In order to make sure we have a safe building for our kids and staff, beginning Monday, IDs are necessary to 1.) enter the building and 2.) eat lunch.
- If students forget their ID, they will either need to retrieve it from their car or home before entering the building.
- If they lose their ID, they will be escorted to the office for a new ID. The $5.00 cost will be assigned to their fee statement.
In order to help students make it to class on time, lunch deliveries are not allowed. We have learned that deliveries often arrive after the lunch period causing students to miss up to half the period. Students are encouraged to eat school lunch or bring lunch from home.
