Location and Topography
Navarre is located in the northern part of Spain, bordering France and the Bay of Biscay. It is next to Basque and La Rioja. Navarre has very varied landscape, with thick forests, waterfalls and large rivers.
Agriculture
Produce is dependent on the Ebro, a large river, that supports the growth of vegetables, wheat products, and olive groves. The mountains provide trout and salmon, plus other types of wild game. The landscape also provides a bean called "pochas de sanguesa" that is used as a base for many of the region's dishes.
Famous Dishes
Cordero al Chilindrón
A lamb stew made with dried and fresh red peppers. The signature dish of Navarra.
Menestra de Verduras
An assortment of vegetables from the land of the Ebro. Navarra is famous for their vegetables.
