Fan Club, Celebrations and Birthdays!
Fan Club:
From Kristin: I would like to give a huge thank you and shout out to Brittany Barker, Ayesha Clisset, Tricia Hall, Liz Hamilton, Sandi Wall and Marci Williams. This amazing team has been doing an incredible job not only supporting schools with gifted supports in this virtual setting but are balancing that while continuing with gifted articulations at a distance. These ladies are wonderful and I’m thankful for all they do!! #TeamGRT #Pasco Proud
From Mary: My Fan Club shout out goes to my Secondary Math Team of Odalis, Ben, Jan and Raul. I appreciate all of your forward-thinking, collaboration and thoughtfulness. I am so thankful to be on such an amazing team that works hard every day for #PascoMath.
From Michael Pellegrino: I am the “lead” gifted teacher at RBSMS. I have to say that Tricia has been incredible. I have worked with Tricia for several years prior while I was teaching at ZHS and she would swing by to do consults for her caseload kids. However, after working more closely with her this year, I can tell you that she has been a life saver for me. Tricia came out to my school several times when she knew that I needed help and walked me through what I needed to do. She made some very stressful times for me much, much easier. I have asked her countless questions (many repeatedly) and Tricia has never responded with anything but kindness and patience. I just wanted you to know (if you didn’t already) how awesome Tricia Hall is. She’s the best!!
From Tina:I wanted to send a huge shout out and my deepest gratitude to Odalis Tavares. At the beginning of the year, she jumped in willingly to leverage Financial Literacy Month and the Expo – she greeted every meeting with a smile and has contributed so much to the team. Though we had to change the learning to virtual, her positivity remained and she remained a steadfast and awesome teammate.
From Tina: I wanted to share my appreciation for Erika Simmons, she is absolutely the best SS teammate ever. I appreciate our check ins and synchronicity in our work and connections with our schools. She has been a steadfast ear to hear my woes and has always leveled up to support me and our teachers in any capacity.
From Odalis: I would like to thank Tina for all her guidance during Financial Literacy month. Throughout the process, Tina did a great job of helping me learn all about financial literacy. She is a great partner and I am honored that I was able to participate in the planning and celebrations. Even though, our plans had to be modified, Tina knew exactly how to adjust to ensure we still celebrated and were able to move forward. Thank you Tina! I can’t wait for the next one. I appreciate you!
From Jessica: I want to give a HUGE shout-out to the one and only Lesley Kirkley! She was a panelist for the DE virtual STEMinar for educational leaders from across the state on Thursday and she did an outstanding job representing Pasco County! I know I'm not the only one that is constantly inspired by her ideas and passion for education and I'm so grateful to be on such a fantastic team with her!

Action Required for ALL Staff: Training for Youth Suicide Awareness and Prevention
All staff who have not attended the 6-hour Youth Mental Health First Aid training (YMHFA), must complete an alternate training, titled Kognito. The Kognito training consists of a 1.0-hour virtual simulation training.
The requirement is for all staff to be trained in YMHFA or Kognito prior to school starting this fall, August 10, 2020.
Directions to Complete the Kognito Training:
Register via MyPGS, choose one of the three simulation trainings listed below:
- If you have a certification and need inservice points, you will register as instructional staff (e.g. Administrators, Behavior Specialists, Learning Design Coach).
- If you are non-instructional and receiving training hours, you will register as non-instructional staff (e.g. ESE IA, FNS, Bus Driver).
- Please register for one of the three options under Instructional or Non-Instructional course sections, then choose the level (Elem/MS/HS) that you primarily work with, or if you are not school based or unsure what level to attend, participate in the middle level training.
While only one simulation training is required, you are welcome to participate in more than one of the level trainings. If you have been trained in Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) you are not required to participate in Kognito, but you are welcome to participate as well.
The completion of each level of Kognito Simulation training and corresponding assignment will provide 1.0 in-service credits. If you take more than one Kognito level simulation training, additional 1.0 inservice points/training credit will be awarded for each level, but you must register on MyPGS for each level training separately to be awarded additional points up to a total of 3.0 inservice points/training credits
When you register via MyPGS, you will be emailed directions how to participate in the Kognito training. If you are unable to register via MyPGS or access canvas, you may call Patty Collins at 813-492-5902 or via email: pcollins@pasco.k12.fl.us
If you need assistance or have questions around Kognito or YMHFA, please contact:
Kelley Huelle via email: khuelle@pasco.k12.fl.us or call: 813-714-7866 or Vicki Papaemanuel via email: vdumois@pasco.k12.fl.us or call: 813-501-2017.
