Hour of Code
The Week of December 7 - 13 was Computer Science in Education Week. The highlight of this celebration was the "Hour of Code". This event was held worldwide. There were over 72,074 schools participating including Kempsville and Kempsville Meadows Elementary. I was able to work with each grade level to do some basic coding with the Coding Cafe at Kempsville Elementary and with classes at KMES. Coding is not just about programming, students learn how to look at things analytically and break down items into smaller pieces. Check out https://hourofcode.com/us for coding opportunities all year long.
