As spring break approaches, I want to express our deepest gratitude for your dedication and hard work throughout the school year. You've poured your heart and soul into nurturing and educating our students, and now it's time for a well-deserved break. Take this opportunity to relax, recharge, and indulge in activities that bring you joy and rejuvenation. Whether you're traveling to new destinations, spending time with loved ones, or simply enjoying some quiet moments of self-care, we hope you make the most of this time to unwind and replenish your spirit.
Thank you for all that you do, and enjoy every moment of your spring break!

Shiny New Nuts and Bolts
•Apex Fundraiser~ It is coming back this year and we will spend a few minutes going over the details on April 10th during our PD time. The fundraiser will start on April 16th and the fun run will be April 25th in the morning. Specific info to come on the April 10th meeting.
•Sonitrol and Security~ To add on to last week's message about Sonitrol, can you please make an extra effort to close and lock your doors? Both your classroom and the staff room.
Thank you.
Last weeks message~ I know many of you are aware that we no longer have Sonitrol, but what does that actually mean? The alarm most likely will still beep when you come in over the weekend. I think that is to deter potential thieves who are unaware that we are no longer being monitored? You can still "disarm" the alarm and it will cycle through a series of odd beeps, but will eventually stop making noise. You DO NOT have to attempt to reset the alarm when you leave. Even if you try, it will not arm. (But somehow it still beeps the next morning?!?) Nevertheless, as a result, you no longer need to sign in or out. I am not sharing this with the community simply because if they think we are armed, then maybe there is less burglary attempts?
I am still working to upgrade the security cameras, but that is a whole different conversation.
•Lice! "Head top Game"~ Apparently there is a game of "Head Top" being played with the primary kids at recess? I'm not exactly sure what that is, or if it is even really happening, but due to the concerns about lice, can you ask your students not to play and instruct/remind them about staying safe?
•Lunch Count~ Food services is asking that we no longer provide lunch counts.

•Sunset's Rotary Teacher of the Year 23/24 ~
Cindy Eaton has been selected for Teacher of the Year. Her tireless efforts to perfect her craft, blended with her passion and excellence in teaching, make her a deserving recipient of this honor. Her ability to adapt to changing circumstances while maintaining high standards of instruction sets her apart. Cindy's dedication to her students, demonstrated through her tireless efforts and genuine care, is evident in the classroom and beyond. We appreciate her commitment to excellence in teaching, coupled with her unwavering compassion for students.
Congratulations Cindy Eaton.
•Student Password Changes~ While it is not yet commonplace, it is becoming more common to see students logging into accounts that are not theirs. They get another student's password, log in as them and think it is funny to mess with their computer settings, etc. If I can determine who these goofballs are, I will happily address this with them. However, in the meantime, can you please remind your students to not share their passwords with anyone! They are not unique (Student ID) so, if they already have, you can use this link to help them reset their password to something unique.

•Sunset Extracurriculars~ The newest list is here! Select the link if you want to view the list.
•Sending Blackboard Messages in English and Spanish: We can and should consider sending our Blackboard emails in Spanish as well as English.
•IT Help tickets for Kendall. I HIGHLY recommend that you do not text or email Kendall with requests. The district tracks the need for these services via a help ticket. If we only have a few help tickets then they may end up cutting services that we desperately need.
