New Traffic Pattern for Drop-off and Pick-Up
Dear families,
DROP-OFF AND PICK-UP PROCEDURES
Cars will only enter on the South drive of the school on Buena Park Road.
Parents entering the parking lot will merge to the left lane to enter the parking lot.
The bus lane in the parking lot is for BUSES ONLY and no cars should utilize that lane for parking or student drop-off/pick-up.
Parents picking up or dropping off their child in the loop merge to the right lane.
Cars in the loop should form a single lane closest to the sidewalk and should not pass on the left.
Please be alert and follow signage and school staff directions.
Parents remain in the car when using the loop for drop-off/pick-up.
AM Please have your child ready to exit the passenger side of the vehicle promptly and staff will direct them to the playground.
PM Staff will direct your child to your car and your child will enter the passenger side of the vehicle.
Cars will only exit on the north drive of the school on Buena Park Road. Merge to the right lane to turn right. Merge to the left lane to turn left.
MORNING DROP-OFF
Parents may also park their vehicles in the parking lot and walk their child up to the crosswalk. A crossing guard will help all students cross the walkway and staff will direct students to the playground. Children should NOT walk from the parking lot alone. If the parent is not parking and escorting their child to the crosswalk, please use the loop for drop-off.
AFTERNOON PICK-UP
Parents may park their vehicles and wait for their child on the far side of the loop on the sidewalk or grass areas closest to the parking lot. Children will not be allowed to walk to parked cars. If the parent is not exiting their vehicle, please use the loop for pick-up.
AFTER SCHOOL CARE(WASP), WALKERS, AND BUS RIDERS
Staff will walk WASP students to the cafeteria and will dismiss walkers, bike riders, and bus riders from the building.
We appreciate everyone being patient and kind during drop-off and pick-up times. Working together we can ensure everyone's safety. If you have any questions, please contact me.
Sincerely,
Jessica Grimm
Principal
WGSD Wellness Updates
Throughout the last year the district has worked to develop wellness guidelines to support our students. We are always working to promote healthier school environments that encourage positive behaviors and help students reach their full academic potential.
This year when we have parties and celebrations in the classroom, we would like to offer some healthier options for students. Other treats such as cupcakes, cookies, etc. will still be allowed. Please click here for the WGSD Smart Snack List.
Complimentary Backpacks
The Community United Methodist Church of Waterford generously donated backpacks to the our school. The backpacks are filled with select school supplies including: pens, pencils, crayons, colored pencils, scissors, erasers, pencil sharpener, ruler, pencil bag, glue stick, highlighter, as well as a notebook and folder. These backpacks will be available on a first come first serve basis for our families. If you were not able to pick a backpack up at open house and are interested, please contact Mrs. Rivera-Kloeppel, our school social worker.

Listed below are the proper medication forms that need to be completed for all medications (even Tylenol or Ibuprofen). Medications must be dropped off in the school office by a parent. Please DO NOT send medications in your child's backpack. If you have any questions regarding medications please contact our district nurse, Rachel Pankonin.
