Giving Tree Holiday Gift Pick-Up
We can feel it in the air here at East High Elementary School… the holidays are quickly approaching! If you have volunteered to support one of our East High Families by purchasing gifts, please remember to drop your gifts off December 6th through 10th at East High’s front office.
If your child(ren) is signed up to receive gifts, there will be some special gifts waiting here at East High Elementary. We would like to remind you that in order for your child(ren) to receive these gifts, we need you to come to East High Elementary School on Thursday, December 16th from 4-5:30 pm. Please come to the main entrance of the school and we will bring the gifts out to you. At that time you will be given the gifts for your child(ren) as well as a box of food that was gathered to provide a meal for your family.
If you have any questions, or cannot come to the school at the scheduled time frames, please contact the School Counselor, Meredith Engebretson at 717-361-0099 Ext 50580 or Meredith_engebretson@etownschools.org.

Zones of Regulation (Las ZONAS de Regulación)
Information from the PTO
Consider Joining the PTO!
The PTO is looking for people to join our Committee as well as co chair in certain areas. We currently have 4 open co-positions. One purpose of the co-positions is to train individuals on certain activities to take ownership or help co chair this year or next year. For co-chairs for different areas, you don’t have to be on the committee to assist or be in charge. We will go over our different areas of PTO activities below. Anyone with an interest in these positions can send a message to EastHighStreetPTO@gmail.com.
We need volunteers to help with the Jingle Bear Shop in December!
The PTO is excited to be able to have the Jingle Bear Shop open to students this holiday season! The Jingle Bear Shop is an exciting event for the students as they are able to shop for their immediate family members. The best part of this experience is that the students do not pay for anything! All items are shopped for throughout the school year so the students can enjoy the gift of giving during the holiday season.
In order to make all of this happen, we would love the help of some Jingle Bear Shop volunteers. Below you will find time slot options to assist with the actual set up of the shop and times for helping during class shopping times. If you can help with a longer shift, please sign up for any additional slots that may be open.
Please note that in order to be able to volunteer, you must have clearances on file with the district office and be on the volunteer list. If you are unsure if you are already on the approved volunteer list, please contact the East High office.
Please review the available slots below and click on the button to sign up. Thank you!
Home Testing Option (Rapid Antigen Test) for Asymptomatic Close Contacts only!
Several constituents had reached out to District Administration regarding the high costs of Covid Tests at regional facilities for asymptomatic students who have been placed in quarantine as close contacts. The constituents requested that the District review the alternative option of "over the counter" take-home tests for students to be able to return to school in a more efficient /cost-effective manner. The health services team met with our school physician on the effectiveness of the Home Testing Option (Rapid Antigen Test) and how the District would verify results to enable students who are asymptomatic AND yield a negative test to return to school. We are pleased to announce that effective Monday, September 27, 2021, the District will begin accepting the results of an over-the-counter at-home test (Rapid Antigen Test) for asymptomatic close contacts only. To exercise this option, a photograph, which includes the student's name, date of the test, and the visual result, would need to be uploaded via email/text to the specific building nurse or the appropriate District designated Covid Point of Contact (POC). Please feel free to reach out directly to these individuals if you are interested in this option.
