School Dismissal Update
April 3, 2020
Thank you for your patience and support during these past three weeks. We all watched the world with the hope that somehow the pandemic would recede and our schools could reopen their doors. We all miss seeing each other in person. We are strong, and we are adapting. And we have our path for the remainder of this school year. You will still receive occasional emails from the District Leadership Team, as warranted, but moving forward, please know that your principals and teachers will be your primary communication connections.
Here is a summary of new information from this week:
Our schools are now dismissed through the end of the academic year, June 4, 2020.
Following the guidelines of the Public Health Department, our school and district offices will be physically closed, even when distance learning resumes after Spring Break.
If children need chromebooks or other items from school, please email your principal.
Meals will continue to be provided Monday - Friday each week after Spring Break.
Our LVJUSD COVID-19 Distance Learning Plan will begin implementation after we return from Spring Break on April 14.
Our State educational leaders have asked that students be “held harmless” while learning during the time of a pandemic; therefore, final trimester grades will be issued as Credit/No Credit.
Seniors on track for graduation will be able to graduate.
More information will be forthcoming to the Class of 2020 with regard to graduation and other senior activities.
You can find updated information in our School Dismissal Information & Distance Learning Resources section on our website. Please continue to send comments, questions, and photos to CommunityEngagement@lvjusd.org.
Spring Break starts tomorrow, and with that comes a break from emails and messages from all of us at LVJUSD. We wish you a week of rejuvenation and good health.
Thank you,
Philomena Rambo & LVJUSD Leadership
Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District
Each student will graduate with the skills needed to contribute and thrive in a changing world.
