Principal's Message

Dear Parents,

During the months of March and April, we are conducting a survey of parents who have children attending SLCUSD elementary schools. Please take a few moments to share your thoughts and opinions about Baywood and our elementary standards-based report card. Please follow this link to access the survey on Survey Monkey. If you prefer, you may fill out the paper copy that will come home Monday in your child's blue folder. We appreciate you for taking the time to offer us some feedback about our schools.

Also, as part of the new requirements under the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF), the district has to develop a Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) to show how it is using its funding to meet 8 state priorities. The eight areas are: Student Achievement, Student Engagement, Other Student Outcomes, Parental Involvement, Course Access, Implementation of Common Core State Standards, Basic Services, and School Climate. Please click on this link to complete the survey.

Respectfully,

Jennifer Dinielli

Color Vision Screening -1st Grade Boys

During March and April, the school nurse will be screening first grade boys for color vision. This is a simple screening routinely done at this age to rule out color vision deficiencies. Please send a note addressed to the school nurse if you do not wish your child to be screened. A letter will be sent home to parents of students who fail the exam.

Registration for Open Enrollment ends March 24

Coming Back to Baywood? Interested in a Different School?

We love our students and families and hope you all plan to return to Baywood next year. However, we understand that sometimes families need to look at other schools for reasons such as parent work location, family needs, or other reasons. If this applies to you, come to our office and apply for Open Enrollment. Do not miss this 3/24 deadline!

Volunteering?

We love volunteers at Baywood! You make our school better for everyone. Please help us out when you are volunteering by checking in at the office and wearing a visitors badge. This helps us know who is on campus and to keep our kids safe.
