Spirit Week was a BLAST!
It's Getting Cold Out!
We know that it is starting to get chilly out. Even with the chilly temperatures Discover U still proudly supports a uniform policy.
To stay warm in class, students may wear a solid long sleeve shirt under their polo. They may also wear a DU sweatshirt or a solid navy blue uniform sweater/cardigan (see pictures below).
Shirts and sweaters are for sale in the front office. Please call if you have any questions 623-974-4827.
Thank You for Your Support
Our Scholastic Book Fair helped to earn over $700 in nonfiction books for our classrooms!!

THANK YOU!!!
Quarter 2 Classroom Attendance
Congratulations to Mrs. Garcia's PreK for winning our quarter 1 pizza party for perfect attendance.
This quarter we are seeing which classroom earns a popcorn and movie party! Each day that the whole class has perfect attendance they will win a popcorn for their bag. Classes will also have small prizes they can earn along the way.
- 5 popcorn kernels=dress down day
- 10 popcorn kernels= dress down day
- 15 popcorn kernels = extra recess and dress down day
Remember it is the law in Arizona that all students must be in school 90% of the time. This means the most days students can miss in a school year is 18 days. Please be sure to get your child to school on time and regularly.

Tax Credit Donations
Discover U is dedicated to providing students with a high-quality education. All of our schools are striving to educate and improve the life chances for the young people we serve on a daily basis.
In this season of giving, we know there are those of you who wish to help even more. In Arizona, you have the option of allocating part of your taxes directly to Discover U Elementary.
Individuals can receive up to a $200 tax credit and married couples can get up to a $400 tax credit each year. In return, you will receive a dollar-for-dollar credit on your State of Arizona Income Tax and a charitable donation credit on your federal tax return. Tax credit donations are non-refundable.
You are able to select Discover U and program you'd like your dollars to go to. Your donation will help student organizations, clubs and field trips.
Thank you in advance for your generosity.
