Language Arts
This week we worked with our anchor text, The Outsiders focusing on the impact of the setting and the development of characters and conflict (internal and external). Students in Period 1 have been assigned a Text to Text project that is due October 3rd. This assignment has a time invested commitment and a project outline and rubric were sent home with your child today. On Wednesday, "The Crazy Fish Lady" (our guidance counselor) was our guest speaker. Students were well behaved and had a great time. We also looked at Latina gangs in Chicago and the effect it has on individuals and the community. Next week's Non-Fiction focus will be on Irish Immigration and Loneliness depending on the class your child is in.
