Principal's Corner: Parent Updates & Reminders
Happy Friday Panda Families,
I hope everyone had a wonderful and safe Spring Break. In all transparency, our attendance this week has been poor. Please make sure your child attends school consistently and on time daily. Additionally, we are at the home stretch for this semester so be on the lookout for upcoming dates, notifications, and invites related to school events.
Please be reminded, that our 3rd -5th grade students will be testing April - 27th – May 6th, 2021. Please be reminded that if you did not complete the Georgia Milestones Testing Election Survey to opt in or out of testing, your child was defaulted to participate in testing. Additionally, all FCS students (K-5) will participate in I-Ready testing May 10th- May 26th. Please make sure your child is logging into I-Ready Reading and Math a minimum of 50 minutes per week. Please also make sure you are monitoring your child(ren)’s passage rate as well. We want to see 80% or higher mastery! The I-Ready assessment data is extremely important. Please encourage your child(ren) to do their very best!!!! The I-Ready assessment data will be used for our instructional planning, course placement, remediation, and TAG (Talented and Gifted) eligibility for students.
Please mark your calendars for the following dates:
National School Principal Appreciation Day- May 1st, 2021
Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week- May 3-7th, 2021
Field Day- May 7th, 2021 (Please see flyer below for Field Day donations)
Awards Day- May 13th: PK-2nd Grades, May 14th: 3rd & 4th Grades, and May 22nd: 5th Grade (Dates and times may be subject to change.)
Lastly, I want to encourage everyone to stay safe and to continue following the CDC guidelines regarding Covid-19. Although more people are getting vaccinated, it does not prevent the spread of Covid. As always, thank you for staying connected to Brookview. We look forward to seeing your little Pandas bright and early on Monday morning. Have a wonderful weekend!
Your Principal and Partner,
Jovita Wallace

Brookview Parent & Family Engagement Plan and School-Family Compacts
Greetings Parents and Families,
Attached below, you will find our school wide Parental and Family Engagement Policy, which has been developed jointly with, and agreed on with, parents of children participating in the Title I, Part A programs. This policy was adopted by Brookview Elementary School on October 2, 2020 and will be in effect for the period of 2020-2021 school year. Brookview Elementary will distribute this policy to all parents of participating Title I, Part A children on or before October 15, 2020 and will be placed on the school website.
Also attached you will find Brookview's School-Family Compact, which was jointly developed by our teachers and parents. The compact outlines the shared responsibilities of parents, students, teachers, and administrators for student academic achievement. The compact also outlines how the school and parents will develop a partnership for student success. School-Family compacts will be placed on the school website at the beginning of the year.
Please review this information with your student(s).
