The State of Texas 2014-15 School Report Card for Black Elementary has been publically released and is now posted on our campus website.
This is a report required by the Texas Legislature and prepared by the Texas Education Agency. It is to be sent to the parent or guardian of every child enrolled in a Texas public school. The report provides information concerning student performance on the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR), as well as information on student enrollment, class size averages, and financial expenditures.

Birthday Treats Procedure
Parents with students in grades K-5 may purchase treat coupons for birthdays. Birthday treat coupons must be redeemed and consumed in the cafeteria during lunch. Parent or guardian of student must fill out a request form or visit the cafeteria to fill out the form and purchase coupons. Request must be made at least three days in advance. Coupons must be purchased with cash or check. We do not take money from the students’ lunch account to pay for birthday treats. Summer birthdays: The last day the cafeteria will sell birthday coupons will be May 23, 2016. If you have any question, please call Paula Long, Cafeteria Manager @ 281-320-7160.

Have you seen our Bearkat Birthday Wall of Fame? Send in your child's birthday page to be posted on the Bearkat Birthday Wall of Fame. Please send $5 along with your one page shout-out, and we will post it for the entire month of their birthday! Our Bearkat students get so excited to see their photos on that wall! All proceeds go directly to the PTO.

The Science Resource Center team is always looking for volunteers! The SRC demos are like in-school field trips for our students and they LOVE them!

Spirit Shop
Calling all Superheroes! Use your powers for good by shopping at Black Elementary's Super Spirit Shop. Spirit Shop is held 1-2 times per month on the cafeteria stage during all lunches. Students may bring money from home and are able to come on stage to shop for fun Bearkat-themed and novelty items starting at just $0.25!
Our next Spirit Shop Date is Friday, March 4th!
Items include spirit t-shirts ($12), water bottles ($4), car magnets ($5), and much more! Spirit Shop is one of our most successful fundraisers of the year. All purchases help the Black Elementary PTO provide funds for additional educational programs, supplies and equipment. Thank you for your support!

5th Grade Day:
Hello SUPER 5th grade parents!
5th Grade Day is quickly approaching, and we have been busy planning for the past 5 months. We have lots of fun games and activities planned for our awesome 5th graders, and we can't wait to celebrate the students on May 27, 2016 There are still tons of opportunities to volunteer before the big day! Only parent volunteers who have participated in the planning process and worked on a committee prior to May 27th will be allowed to attend 5th grade day. Each parent who wishes to attend 5th grade day must volunteer at least 2 hours. There are many ways to volunteer and volunteer hours do not have to be at school. Some of your volunteer hours may include: emailing committee members, shopping for supplies, making props for a station, baking for the carwash fundraiser, etc. Your committee chair will have more information regarding volunteer opportunities

5th Grade Memory Book
Attention 5th Grade Parents!!!!!
PLEASE KEEP SENDING in your Bearkats’ baby pictures, 1st day of school pictures & any pictures that you take at school events this year... Field day, Choir, Veterans Day or any other events for the 5th Grade Memory Book. If sending in a hard copy please put students name on the back of the photos, put in envelope & label memory book. Fifth Grade T-Shirts
We are encouraging 5th grade students to wear their 5th grade T-shirts every Friday in recognition of their last year at Black Elementary. Also, we encourage volunteers to wear them when helping at the school. Everyone will also be able to wear these at the upcoming car wash fundraiser, Saturday, April 2nd and at the 5th Grade Day event, Friday, May 27th.

El 15 de febrero es un día feriado para los estudiantes y día de desarrollo profesional para los miembros de personal. Esperamos que disfruten su fin de semana de tres días. El 17 de febrero nuestros estudiantes de 3ro y 4to grado tomaran su examen de punto de referencia en lectura. Este examen simulara la evaluación del STAAR que los estudiantes rendirán a principios de mayo. Asegúrese que su estudiante coma un desayuno saludable y llegue puntual a la escuela este día importante porque empezaran a tomar su examen inmediatamente después de los anuncios. Haremos cambios en los horarios de almuerzo el 17 de febrero y le pedimos que se comunique con el maestro de su estudiante en relación al horario del almuerzo.
El 19 de febrero los estudiantes se tomaran las fotografías de la primavera y del grupo de salón de clase. El día alusivo será el jueves.

Calendario Escolar 2016-2017
La Junta Directiva de CFISD aprobó la recomendación del Comité del Calendario para el calendario escolar del año lectivo 2016-2017 durante su reunión regular llevada a cabo el martes 19 de enero. Para el año lectivo 2016-2017, la fecha del primer día de clase es el 22 de agosto. Nuestra escuela le agregara 15 minutos al día de instrucción. Evento anual Superintendent’s Fun Run – 27 de febrero
Este año el evento se llevara a cabo el sábado 27 de febrero. El evento es a beneficio de Fundación Educativa de Cy-Fair. ¡Habrá diversiones para todas las edades! No tiene que participar en las carreras para venir y apoyarnos. Puede participar en la caminata familiar, carrera de 1 milla o la carrera de 5K. La Tarjeta Escolar de Calificaciones en línea
La Tarjeta Escolar de Calificaciones del estado de Texas para el año 2014-15 de la escuela primaria Black ha sido presentada públicamente y está incluida en la página Web de nuestra escuela.
La tarjeta es un informe ordenado por la legislatura de Texas y preparado por la Agencia de Educación de Texas. Si no tuvieran acceso a ver la tarjeta escolar de calificaciones en línea, sírvanse llamar a 281-320-7145 para solicitar que la tarjeta escolar de calificaciones sea enviada a la casa con su hijo. También pueden visitar la escuela y pedir en las oficinas que les muestren o les entreguen una copia de la tarjeta.

Procedimiento Para los Cumpleaños
Los padres de estudiantes de K a 5to grado pueden comprar cupones de bocadillos para cumpleaños. (Solamente se permite un cupón para cada estudiante del salón por día). Los cupones deben canjearse y consumirse en la cafetería durante el horario del almuerzo. El padre o tutor legal del estudiante debe llenar el formulario de solicitud o visitar la cafetería para llenar el formulario y comprar los cupones. La solicitud se debe presentar con un mínimo de tres (3) días de anticipación. Solamente puede pagar por los cupones en efectivo o con cheque. No se puede utilizar la cuenta de almuerzo del estudiante para pagar por los cupones de cumpleaños. El último día que la cafetería venderá cupones de cumpleaños es el 23 de mayo de 2016. Si tiene preguntas al respeto, sírvanse llamar al encargado de la cafetería, la Sra. Paula Long al 281-320-7160.

Los invitamos a que compren su bloque de ladrillo para su Bearkat. Podría comprar un ladrillo para su maestro o miembro de personal favorito también. No hay un límite en la cantidad de bloques de ladrillo que puede comprar.

Novedades de la Tienda Alusiva
¡Estamos haciendo un llamado a todos los Súper Héroes! Usen su poder para una buena causa, y hagan compras en la Súper Tienda Alusiva de la Escuela Primaria Black. La tienda alusiva se lleva a cabo 1 a 2 veces por mes. Durante nuestras fechas programadas, usted puede enviar dinero con su hijo a la escuela y podrá subir a la plataforma de la cafetería durante su almuerzo para hacer sus compras de artículos.
La próxima fecha de la Tienda Alusiva es el viernes 4 de marzo.
La Tienda Alusiva vende artículos relacionados con el tema de los Bearkats. Se venden camisetas ($12), botellas de agua reutilizable ($4), imanes para su coche ($5), joyería ($3-$12) y una variedad de artículos ($0.25-$5).

Camisetas de quinto grado
Animamos a todos los estudiantes de 5to grado que se pongan sus camisetas todos los viernes como reconocimiento de su último año en la Escuela Primaria Black. También animamos a los padres que se la pongan, los días que vienen a la escuela como voluntarios. Todos podrán tener su camiseta puesta en el próximo evento de recaudación de fondos, el 2 de abril y el día de 5to grado el 27 de mayo.

Libro de Recuerdos de 5to Grado
¡Atención padres de los estudiantes de 5to grado!
Les pedimos que empiecen a enviar fotografías de su “Bearkat”. Envié fotografías de bebe, Día de Competencias, Concierto del Coro de 5to Grado, Día de los Veteranos o cualquier otro evento, para el libro de recuerdos de 5to grado.
Si me manda una copia de su fotografía, asegúrese de escribir el nombre de su estudiante y coloque dentro de un sobre dirigido a “memory book”. No se devolverán las fotografías que envié. También puede enviar sus fotos por línea a memorybook@blackpto.net.

Le pedimos que considere ser un personal certificado para administrar las evaluaciones de la audición y visión.
En el otoño de 2016, se les hará una valuación de la audición y visión a todos los estudiantes.
Es un evento anual muy importante y necesitamos personal certificado para las evaluaciones.
La capacitación de personal certificado es en mayo. Inscríbase hoy y marque su calendario.
El certificado para administrar evaluaciones es válido por 5 años.
