Director's Newsletter
All the latest news from April 17th till May 10th
I would like to welcome you all back from our recent Spring Break. I hope that you had an enjoyable and relaxing time with your family and now it is back to learning in term 3.
With approximately a month left before the Holy Month of Ramadan starting, our schedules are quite full and our Grade 11 and 12 students are preparing for their final exams.
There are quite a few announcements in this edition of the Director's Newsletter so I would encourage all our parents to please read through it thoroughly.

TERM 3 - ANNOUNCEMENTS
Entry & Exit Procedures (Secondary School) - REMINDER
When we return from our Spring Break, as of April 8th, the following procedure will be enforced:
* Girls are to arrive in the morning (prior to 7:50AM) and be picked up after school (2:40PM) from the girls entrance.
* Boys are to arrive in the morning (prior to 7:50AM) and be picked up after school (2:40PM) from the boys entrance.
* Any late students are not permitted to enter the class without being provided a late slip. These slips can be found in the reception areas from both sides.
* No student is permitted to leave without parental approval and with a valid reason given. Again, an early exit slip needs to be provided to the student and should be picked up from the respective reception area (girls from the girls side and boys from the boys side).
* Procedure remains the same for the students that arrive and depart with our bus transportation.
* Parents who require older secondary students to collect younger siblings from primary classrooms (in place of the parent) will be required to complete a consent form. The pass will allow them access to primary building to collect siblings after school. These families will leave from the primary reception exit.
** PLEASE NOTE THAT ANY STUDENT NOT HOLDING A PASS FROM SUNDAY ONWARDS TO ENTER OR EXIT FROM THE PRIMARY MAIN RECEPTION AREA WILL NOT BE ALLOWED IN OR OUT.
Additional Classes for Grades 6 & 7 Boys
Some changes have been made to the student groupings for English and Maths so that we can best provide extra support for those students who we know will benefit from this additional help, and also provide challenge for those students needing to be stretched academically. Depending on needs and progress students will be able to move between groups.
I am very heartened by the positive feedback I have already had from students I have spoken to.
I also would like to repeat what I have been saying to parents during this year - next academic year we will structure 3 boys classes from commencement of term 1, rather than 2 boys classes that we have offered this year, allowing for much better learning opportunities for all boys in Grade 6, 7 and 8.
We believe that this initiative will encourage our students to excel and to constantly strive to do better so that they can always face the maximum level of challenge.
I will be more than pleased to answer any questions you may have.

A special mention...
It is with great pride that I can inform all our parents and AJAC community that Coach Irakli Revishvili, who represented the school at the Emirates International Swimming Championship this past weekend, swam in 4 different events (50-100-200-400 Freestyle) and won 4 Gold medals and obtained the "High Point Trophy" at the end.
Due to these results, coach Irakli is now re-selected to swim for the Georgian National Swim Team whereby he will be representing his country at the European Swimming Championship that will take place in Scotland this summer.
Congratulation Coach Irakli! We are proud to have you as a part of AJAC swimming and coaching team.

Parent Support Group
Our parent partnerships are important. We have an active parent network and involvement in our parent support group assists with the development of closer relationships with teachers and increases parent opportunities to share ideas.
There are some exciting projects being planned for this year - do see Miss Yasmeen Ali if you are interested in becoming involved or email directly: y.ali@ajmanacademy.com.
