Lady Bulldogs Basketball by Coach Dumont
On Friday January 17th the Bandera Lady Bulldogs traveled to Canyon Lake for another district game. This time it was the Lady Bulldogs that came out hot, ready to play. The Lady Bulldogs played exceptional defense causing multiple turnovers by Canyon Lake and were led in scoring by Breanna Stimmell (7) in the first quarter. After being hit in the eye and ending up with a black eye in the first couple of minutes of the game, Chelsey Graves got hot and led the Lady Bulldogs in scoring during the second quarter with 8 points. At the half the Lady Bulldogs were up 24- 15. After the half the Lady Bulldogs were able to maintain their lead by playing great defense as a team. The Lady Bulldogs added 5 more points in the third quarter. Even though Canyon Lake tried to make a push late in the fourth, the Lady Bulldogs answered each time scoring 16 points of their own to finish the game. Breanna Stimmell led the Lady Bulldogs in the fourth quarter with 9, Graves had 2, Summer Haby had 1, and Liz MacNeil had 4 (a three pointer and a clutch free throw off the bench after subbing in for Kristin Salas who had been hit at half court).
