Principal's Message
Sunny Heights Families,
We have had a very exciting and eventful week here at Sunny Heights Elementary! Our students and staff have been immersed in Black History Month activities throughout the week. Students in all grades are learning about individuals, achievements, and lasting impacts of Black Americans. On Wednesday, we recognized World Read Aloud Day by inviting local celebrities to read to our students. We had a wide variety of visitors through Zoom and in-person including our superintendent Dr. Hanson, WTHR anchor Anne Marie Tiernon, MSD of Warren Township school board members, and more! A big THANK YOU to all those that read and to teachers that made it all work so well!
This weekend we have been warned of extremely cold temperatures coming to central Indiana. Please be sure that students are bundled up with coats, hats, and gloves for school on Monday. As always, reach out if there is a need for support.
Thank you and have a great weekend!
Your Proud Principal,
Bart Lewis

ALL STUDENTS - ATTENDANCE
For the 2020-2021 school year, Warren Township has transitioned to a new student information system called Synergy allowing our parents and caregivers to have improved access to school information through the parent portal called ParentVUE. We are aware that at this time some students’ attendance records are reflecting students are absent, when in fact they were present. This is mostly the case for our students who are attending school VIRTUALLY on application days or in the VIRTUAL opinion full-time. We want to assure you that teachers are keeping accurate attendance records and that we are working to correct attendance records for all our students.
