- Don't eat food or pass objects with your left hand
- Many Hindus are particular in being vegetarian
Holiday Celebrations
- Ugadi (New Years)- marks the beginning of the region's harvest season
- Diwali, the festival of lights/sweets- when you can indulge on delicious traditional Indian foods and sweets without feeling guilty. Milk-based sweets like Gulab Jaamuns, Kheer, Phirni, Kulfi and Barfis are extremely popular.
Pretzel-shaped Jalebieven
It's a bright orange swiggle made of flour, deep-fried and soaked in sweet syrup.
Gulab Jaamun
Small balls of dried milk, slow cooked and boiled in a sugar syrup.
Kati roll
A traditional street food popular across India. A wrap of kebabs, eggs, vegetables, and spices rolled into paratha (a type of flat bread).
