With the recent change to colder weather, please remember to send your child with their coat in the morning. Students go outside for RECESS and for GYM as long as the temperature is 20 degrees or above. Hats and gloves are also recommended as the temperatures continue to drop! Due to cross contamination concerns, the nurse is unable to loan jackets as she has in previous years. It is very important to have your child dressed to be outside.

Please make sure to label coats and other items so they can be returned to your child if lost. Initials even help us to locate the owner! Thank you for your cooperation!

There were 120 participants in Math Challenge #5. Amazing work! The teachers with the highest number of participants were: Ms. Curtin with 17 and Ms. Carnila and Mrs. Wendling with 12. Great job!!!

The next Math Challenge is due January 5th.

It is that time again! Time to show your Tawanka Talent! Our annual Talent show will be on Friday, March 31. We are looking for students who can dance, sing, play an instrument, perform gymnastics, tell jokes, do magic tricks, etc! Here is the link to learn more and sign-up for an audition.

Our Kindergarteners were able to have some fun and make gingerbread cookies. They decorated with candy and had lots of fun with their classmates and some parents. Look at all their hard work!!

Students in Mrs. Neff's class enjoy working together and writing sentences during WIN. Here are a few pictures of her students having fun in WIN.

Mrs. Kane's Kindergarten students had some fun creating a game called "Jingle Bell Roll" during their FLEX time. They needed to take turns rolling as many small jingle bells into their designated cups before the timer was up!

Ms. Wells and Mrs. Fedele's classes have been switching for WIN. These two groups were practicing a Readers Theater from one of the pilot programs, Into Reading. The students worked together to design props and practice their fluency. On 12/21 students got to perform to both of the classes.

Students in Ms. Wells' class were given a challenge to build and decorate gingerbread houses! Pictured below is her class working together making them!!

Our second graders had fun this week dressing in ugly sweaters, holiday bling and as snowman. Here are a few pictures from this week.

Students in Mrs. Sylvester class were rocking and rolling on a "Physics of Sound" unit in Science class. All students created an instrument to demonstrate volume and pitch. Below is a picture of some of the instruments that where made.

Fourth Grade had their annual Gift of Words exchange! Students were given a student to give a gift.... of words! We had to keep it a secret for a few weeks while the gifts were displayed in our classroom throughout December. The kind words that the students wrote to each other were simply amazing! Happy Holidays!

Mrs. Cromwell’s class finally got their tickets for the Hogwarts Express! They are excited to join Harry Potter’s journey as they read Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.

Football is continuing each Day 5. The playoffs are in two weeks and then the champions play the 4th grade staff! Here are some pictures of Mr. Blaydon and Mr. Finkel from this week's game.
